Around Town Trucks
Some people think that a service at the time of a C.O.F is enough but this generally sees more repair work needed at a greater cost. Your better to have your truck regularly serviced to also help keep an eye on any upcoming issues that might be pending.
If it’s a small truck or light commercial truck then generally a service before or at C.O.F time is enough as long as the oil is changed once a year. Just ensure your brakes are warmed up before the testing station as this will normally see a pass.
Due to constant stopping and starting, around town trucks have a tendency to have heavy wear on brakes and clutches much faster and should really be serviced between 10,000km and 15,000km to ensure low repair costs and best safety practices for all road users.

Line Haul Trucks
Line haul trucks are normally serviced at 10,000-15,000km. It is well worth getting a regular (A) Service where we check grease, adjust brakes, adjust clutch, check all oil & fluid levels.
It can be up to $5,000.00 + G.S.T for a clutch replacement for some models of truck and an unattended oil leak is very costly. Checks on everything from anti-freeze percentage, battery fluid levels, safety checks to light bulbs (Just to mention a few) .

(A & B) Services on line haul trucks are normally done between 20,000-30,000km. Everything in a (A)service with oil change and filters ( Air Cleaner replacement at 12 months or 100,000km) Diffs. and gearbox oils are normally every 45,000-60,000km
